Who is Anuschka?

Anuschka is Roma’s creation. She loved the name Anuschka, but she had already named her three children Bhaskar, Radhika and Priyanka. When she decided to share her love for art through handbags, her newest child became Anuschka, meaning “like no other.”

How is Anuschka different from any other hand painted accessories in the market?

Anuschka is the only family owned, designed, and ethically produced hand-painted brand. We offer original artwork and unrivaled quality at an incredible value. We are the premier, original hand painted brand of hand-painted accessories available at select boutiques and shoe stores across 20 countries. Like every trend setting brand, we have our imitators, but we can assure you that our product speaks for itself as it has for more than 30 years. Each Anuschka is hand-cut and crafted from fine leather, then individually painted, not by professional artists, but by young men and women who have been trained by us and enjoy the benefits of ourfair-trade policies. High grade leather, signature lining, branded hardware, original art, years of experience, and excellent quality distinguish us from the counterfeits. Where and how are the Anuschka handbags made? 

Back in the 80’s when Anuschka was born, Roma used to design the bags in Kolkata. Today, Anuschka bags are designed in USA by Roma’s son, Bhaskar. Living in the Pacific Northwest and traveling the globe, Bhaskar continues to infuse Anuschka with new designs every season inspired by his many travels and also our family of global collectors.

They are then made in the family owned and operated workshop in India. Every Anuschka leather product starts with hand cutting the top grain leather and selecting the best pieces. Anuschka-trained artisans sketch and individually hand-paint every piece. Traditional crafters who have learned the trade from generations before them use old school techniques to create tailor made pieces. Every handbag goes through multiple stages of inspection by our quality team to ensure that the art is perfect. A family member does a final review of every bag before it is hand signed and packed.

What type of leather is used to create an Anuschka product?

What is Vegetable Tanning?

Vegetable tanning is an intricate, traditional method of tanning leather dating back to approximately 6000 BC. It’s an organic method relying on natural vegetable tannins from bark and other plant tissues. Vegetable tanning is a time-consuming process requiring highly skilled craftsmen. This tanning is better for our environment and allows us to explore new forms of wearable art by incorporating paintings and tooling along with our classic hand paintings.  The resulting collection is a line of more structured leather bags with specially designed artwork.

What is tooled Leather?

We were inspired by ancient India tooling techniques passed on through generations. Exquisite hand-drawn motifs and embossed tooling showcase a gorgeous new addition to our collection.  We used our new Vegetable Tanned leathers to create these new arrivals.  The unique characteristics of this leather allow the tooling to look more defined and therefore, more beautiful.

How can I make sure I am purchasing a Genuine Anuschka product?

* When shopping online, buy directly from or one of our authorized retailers.
*Look for the white leather tag stitched to the lining of the bag with the Anuschka logo.
*The lining will have the Anuschka/Anna logo woven into it.
*Each original Anuschka is hand-signed. 


What countries does Anuschka ship to?

Anuschka currently ships to almost every country around the globe. However, certain countries can only shop using the region specific webstores.

Can I change or cancel my order?

How do I apply a discount code to my order? 

A discount code may be applied to your order by entering the code in the Discount code field located under your shopping bag after clicking checkout.Discount codes may not be combined or used with any other promotions, codes, or coupons. 

How do I check the status of my order? 

You may check the status of your order by logging into your customer account or by following the View My Order link from your confirmation email.  

How will I know when my order has shipped?

You will receive a shipment notification email including a tracking number when your order has shipped. If you are having trouble tracking your order, please email us at |+91 9088102028 for details. 

When can I expect my order to ship? 

Most orders will be processed and shipped within 3 business days from the time the order was placed. Please note we do not ship on holidays or weekends. 

When can I expect my order to arrive? 

Our products are sent from Kolkata, and we will make every effort to dispatch your order within 24 hours excluding weekends, festivals and holidays. Delivery times are estimates for courier services within India, we cannot guarantee delivery dates. 

Please note that orders delivered to remote areas can take longer time to deliver depending on weather and transport conditions. 

How do I return a purchase from 

Contact us within 7 days of receiving your Anuschka product if you wish to return your unused products with all original packing materials and tags, please email a photo to or call us at +91 9088102028 to obtain a return authorization.  

We do not accept returns of any used items. Outbound shipping fees are not refundable. 

Can I exchange my purchase? 

We do not offer exchanges.

Will Covid 19 have any effect of my order processing or shipping? 

Our team continues to work hard under the current safety measures to provide you with the best possible shopping experience. We occasionally experience short delays in processing, and shipping times may be longer than normal due to extra safety measures. We sincerely appreciate your patience and continued support. 


How do I care for my Anuschka leather products? 

We highly recommend that you protect your Anuschka products from stains and extreme moisture to safeguard their hand-painted finish. Due to the hand-painted surface of the leather, you should avoid rubbing the leather against rough or sharp surfaces to minimize scratching. If you get your leather product wet, wipe the liquid immediately and pat to dry with a soft cloth, then allow it to dry naturally. Our leather products are treated after creation for durability and protection. However, please be aware that it is natural for leather to transform slightly in color when exposed to the elements. 

Does Anuschka sell a Leather Protector?

We do not currently sell a leather protector in India, and none of the leather protectors available from other resellers have been tested on the painted surface by us. Therefore, we cannot recommend a leather protector for your Anuschka products at this time. If you wish to experiment with a non-Anuschka certified leather protector, it will void any warranty that comes with your purchase.


What is the Anuschka warranty policy? 

Our one-year warranty applies to regular priced items and is limited to manufacturing defects only. Any damage caused by natural marking or scars, normal wear and tear, natural fading, neglect, or accidents are not covered under warranty. In case of extensive repair requirements, thecosts may need to be covered by the customer. Please see more warranty details here.

What does not Qualify as a defect?

Any damage caused by natural marking or scarring, normal wear and tear, natural fading, neglect, or accidents are not covered under warranty, including but not limited to the use of non-Anuschka certified Leather Protectors or chemicals. Due to the delicate surface of the leather, you should avoid rubbing the leather against rough or sharp surfaces to minimize scratching. Please see more warranty details here.


What payments methods are accepted at checkout? 

We accept all Indian Credit & Debit Cards, Net Banking, Digital Wallets and UPI.
We also offer COD (cash on delivery). If you choose COD then please confirm your order through an OTP when asked.

Is it safe to pay online?

Your details are completely safe with us. We do not save any card details and all the payment procedures are processed absolutely securely. All payments are administered using the services of industry leaders who have built their reputation on securing your privacy and identity.
